Ventura County Comets RC (VC Comets)

The Ventura County Comets RC (VC Comets) is AMA club #173, chartered in 1965, with about 149 members. The club flies at TJ Moran Memorial Field inside the Lake Casitas Recreation Area on Santa Ana Rd, Ventura, which has an asphalt runway, covered shelter and a float-flying area. Glow and gas are allowed with mufflers under a 98 dB limit; turbines, jets and rockets are not. Drone pilots need a Lake Casitas permit, and AMA membership is required for everyone. The club runs Learn to Fly training days, juniors fly free, and general meetings are held in odd months on the 3rd Thursday at the Oak View Community Center.
