Rules for visitors

Under 400 ft; no flying over no-fly zones (roads, pits, parking, picnic area); pilots behind pilot line, max 3 per station; passes on east side of runway, 3D hovering over grass east of runway; start engines only in pits (not under covered area), break-in on test stands behind clubhouse; drones/multirotors fly at heli pad; FPV only with spotter; no alcohol; no spectators inside fenced area; pets leashed; AMA turbine/large-model waivers on request.
Valid AMA membership required to fly at DSMA and card must be displayed; pilots must demonstrate safety/flight proficiency to fly without an instructor; visitors sign the BCF Visitor Liability Release; BCF membership required to use the clubhouse.

Recreational pilots need an FAA TRUST certificate, and aircraft over 250 g must be FAA registered.

Flying field of Bayou City Flyers (AMA club #901).

Facility opened/dedicated Aug 16, 1986; operated by the Houston Area Model Council (HAMCI) under lease with Harris County on US Army Corps of Engineers land. Adjacent control-line and soaring fields. Clubhouse, covered prep area, public restrooms. FAA FRIA 2023-CBO-01100-FRIA (expires 2027-08-29).
