About this field
Brigantino Park on San Juan Rd in Hollister is a large thermal soaring field used by the South Bay Soaring Society. Gliders are launched by winch, and the site has grass pits, porta-pots and a spectator area. It is an FAA-Recognized Identification Area (2023-CBO-02312-FRIA).
Flying is daylight only and soaring only, with no turbines. Guests are welcome with AMA membership, and the club offers free sailplane instruction. SBSS holds its monthly thermal-duration contest here; check the club website for dates before visiting.
