Rules for visitors

Float planes only (boats are no longer allowed). Drain and dry planes before leaving the lake (invasive mussel prevention). Weather cancellations are emailed by 11 AM.
A sponsored AMA member may fly once to decide whether to join.

Recreational pilots need an FAA TRUST certificate, and aircraft over 250 g must be FAA registered.

About this field

Lake Poway Skimmers fly RC float planes off Lake Poway twice a month. The city park has indoor restrooms, a playground and room for spectators.

Flying is for club members only, and planes must be drained and dried before leaving to protect the lake.
