Rules for visitors

Sailplanes only: hand launch, hi-start, winch and F5J electric sailplanes (30-second motor run). No other powered aircraft or quadcopters. Gliders may fly up to 700 ft.
AMA-member visitors may fly when accompanied by a club member.

Recreational pilots need an FAA TRUST certificate, and aircraft over 250 g must be FAA registered.

About this field

The Poway Flight Center is Torrey Pines Gulls' grass glider field on Garden Road, south of Garden Road Elementary. It is home to the club's monthly hand-launch (DLG) and F5J contests and foamy fun flies, with winches and line retrievers.

The field is gated and opened with a member key card. It is an FAA-recognized FRIA.
