Rules for visitors

Engines larger than 70cc prohibited (noise); no aggressive 3D with gas planes; max 4 models airborne; all powered flying from the four flight stations; no flying in/from pits; hovering helicopters use the helicopter pad. Hi-start/winch gliders have precedence Tue & Sun 1:30 PM-dark and Sat 3:30 PM-dark (no power flying except powered gliders while glider pilots present). No drugs, alcohol, firearms, pets, pyrotechnics or vendors. Field shared with farmers - use caution around farm workers; carry out trash.
Per by-laws, any Lowcountry-area resident with current AMA membership may fly twice without being a member; thereafter must join. AMA membership required.

Recreational pilots need an FAA TRUST certificate, and aircraft over 250 g must be FAA registered.

Flying field of Low Country RC Fliers (Lowcountry RC Flyers) (AMA club #2857).

Gated field reached by a dirt road ~200 yards up Blackground Rd from Maybank Hwy (Briar's Creek Golf Club sign); cross the end of the runway to reach parking. Amenities: covered shelter, workbenches, setup tables, start-up stands, frequency board, storage building, porta-pots, safety fences, windsocks. FAA FRIA 2023-CBO-00064-FRIA (expires 2027-07-31).
