Rules for visitors

No drugs/alcohol (AMA listing). Field is in a public park on DeKalb County land; club stresses AMA rules against flying over people.
Club newsletter (6/2/2026) suggests that after reopening, pilots may fly when an officer is present and show an AMA card; not yet final.

Recreational pilots need an FAA TRUST certificate, and aircraft over 250 g must be FAA registered.

About this field

Flying field of Atlanta Radio Control Club (AMA club #223).

Website (6/2/2026 update and sidebar): field closed by DeKalb County no-trespass/executive order; members told not to go to the field. County plans to reopen the park (to be named Michelle Obama Park) and the RC field in fall 2026, with the runway moved about 150 ft west, 28 public parking spaces, portable toilets, no power planned. FAA FRIA 2023-CBO-01581-FRIA (expires 2027-09-11). AMA listing (likely pre-closure) shows asphalt runway, helicopter pad, covered shelter, porta-pots.
