About the club
Tehachapi Crosswinds is AMA club #5113, with about 38 members. The club has had an established flying field off Neely Ave in Tehachapi since 2012. The privately owned site sits at about 4,183 ft elevation and has a groomed dirt runway, a covered shelter, a helicopter pad and prep stands. Activities include fixed wing, jets, helicopters, multirotor and FPV. The club runs the AMA Introductory Pilot program, with 90 days of instruction after a first flight at no extra cost, and offers free introductory flights on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in summer. New members need a club sponsor. Dues are handled through the online Join/Renew form on the club website.
