About the club
The Coachella Valley RC Club (CVRCC) is AMA charter #2458 and an AMA Gold Leader Club with about 146 members. Its roots go back to 1938. The club flies at Canal Regional Park in Thermal, a 240-acre site on U.S. Bureau of Reclamation land beside the All-American Canal, with an 865 ft asphalt runway. The field supports a wide range of flying, from electric and gas sport planes to turbine jets, helicopters, control line, pattern and soaring. A free introductory pilot program with a buddy box runs on Saturday mornings, and the club hosts several large events each winter season, including a turbine rodeo and the Desert Warbirds fly-in. Meetings are held on the 4th Saturday of each month at the field.
