About the club
Founded in 1935 as the Olean Model Airplane Club, STARS is one of the oldest AMA clubs and helped launch the Giant Scale movement in the 1970s with its quarter-scale Bristol Scouts; its original Clapp Field in Olean is an AMA National Aeromodeling Historic Landmark. The club now owns a field off West Shore Rd in Cuba, NY with grass and geo-textile runways, a covered pavilion and pilot shelter.
